Rev’d Mark Elvin
Prior to coming to Bowthorpe Mark has worked in several ecumenical partnerships. He was ordained as a United Reformed Church minister in 1996. He began his working life as a chef in central London before becoming a youth and schools worker in East London. He is married to Mandy and has two teenage children. He enjoys walking his dog, Shadow, and can often be seen around the community with his dog. He is a keen sports fan, supporting West Ham United. He says that supporting West Ham teaches you about coping with disappointment in life! He also loves music of all kinds, especially rock n’ roll, and loves to dance, sing and play the guitar. He loves meeting people and hearing their story.

Mrs. Sheila Hinton
I am Sheila Hinton and am Honorary Secretary for Bowthorpe Church and I also enjoy being involved in work with children. I have been married to Roger since 1970 and we have a lovely daughter, son in law and two wonderful grandchildren, who live less than an hour’s drive away. Roger and I moved to Costessey in late 1999 from Berkshire, after many house moves around the South and Home Counties; hopefully this is the last now that Roger has retired. We have worshipped in many churches over the years, mostly in traditional Anglican Churches, but have settled very happily here at Bowthorpe, embraced the less formal ways of an Ecumenical Partnership Church and made many friends here.
Mrs. Lois Wiltshire
Assistant Church Secretary, Leader of the Oaks
Lois has been a member of the fellowship here for 6 years and currently serves as Assistant Church Secretary covering when Sheila cannot be there. She is best known for starting up and leading our Dementia Friendly Group, the Oaks.
She is a Dementia Champion and a community and neighbourhood volunteer for Age UK Norwich.
Mrs. Christine McGrath
I retired back to Norwich at end of 2006, after living 42 years away from this beautiful city. My work for many years had been in finance, accounts and wages – so I’m pleased to keep my brain ticking over with Bowthorpe Church accounts! I have a wonderful family, husband Bob, son, daughter-in-law plus two granddaughters – who now look down on me! I support our church where I can, I help with our successful Tots group. I love playing music and I am able to play the hymns for our Care home services at the Mayflower court. I play also a bass clarinet, and I am a member of Norwich City Concert band. Bob and I enjoy walking, exploring wonderful Norfolk and doing some bird watching.
