Welcome to our communion service for the 12th March 2023, this is a continuation of our Lent theme of Matthew’s Passion. Today we are looking at Matthew 26: 36 – 56 and is entitled “Praying and sleeping” as we look at the agony of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane as he struggled with the pain that came from knowing he would be carrying the weight of the sin of the world to the cross. Through his suffering in the Garden, Christ remains dedicated to the will of his father, that through his sacrifice and resurrection sinners would be reconciled with God.
